The combination of the Grigory Kvitka-Osnovyanenko play and the non-classical approach of the Neft theatre is an upgrade of the classics on the Promodo Hub stage. The actors reveal the social and everyday suffering of Ukrainians to the rhythms of hip-hop and jazz, filling this mix with sarcasm and jokes. During the play "Suffering in Goncharivka", generative video art is projected onto the walls. Musicians play saxophone and electric guitar.
The play is based on the story of Ulyana's passionate love for Olexiy, the greed of her parents, and the stupidity of Stetsko, who's trying to woo Ulyana. Will she suffer from the pressure of her mother or will she go to meet her love? Find out at the play.
All events take place on Goncharichvka, behind Kholodnaya Gora in Kharkiv.
